This piece shows how fire is part of the lifecycle of the Australian bush, and not the end. As the title indicates, our bush depends on the fire for regeneration.

The base of the strip starts off showing the dark greens of established bush. Fire then begins to take hold, with the emergence of the reds and yellows. As the fire dies down the ashes settle and the bush begins to regrow, with bright greens and deep maroons starting to show through. Finally the greens become darker as the bush is re-established and old-growth returns.
