Also before we went away we visited Sacsayhuaman (pronounced sac-say-wo-man). This is an amazing Inca construction consisting of some of the biggest stones (stones doen't seem to be an appropriate word - massive rocks is more like it!!) and most amazing stonework I have seen...
Getting there was an achievement in itself as we decided to walk up.... The site is just north of the centre of Cusco but it's up all the way and I still struggle going "up" at this altitude (Cusco is 3300 metres above sea level, Sacsayhuaman is 3600 metres...)
I still can't work out how it is humanly possible to move nor shape these stones in such a manner... It is simply mind-blowing!!
